Bio

Jeremy Dantin has handled workers’ compensation cases at all levels in the State of South Carolina. He is a member of the Injured Workers Advocates, the premier association for claimant’s attorneys dedicated to protecting and advancing workers’ rights in workers’ compensation cases, where he formerly served on the Executive Committee and currently serves on the Legislative Committee.  Jeremy speaks at seminars on issues regarding workers’ compensation. He also handles appellate matters, arguing cases before the Court of Appeals and the South Carolina Supreme Court. He has experience as a defense and a plaintiff’s attorney handling nursing home litigation and other liability matters.

Since 2013, Jeremy has held an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest peer rating standard given to attorneys who are ranked at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal proficiency, communication skills, and ethical standards by their peers.  Additionally, for the last two years, Jeremy has been selected as a Super Lawyer, which is an honor given to those who have demonstrated excellence in the practice of law.  No more than 5% of the lawyers in South Carolina are included on this list. Jeremy Dantin was also recently selected on the list of the South Carolina Legal Elite. Legal Elite is a regional awards program where attorneys are nominated and chosen by votes of other attorneys. The nominated attorneys are recognized as well respected attorneys in their practice areas. The selected attorney list is featured in the August 2022 issue of Greenville Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly, and Charleston Business Magazine.

Jeremy holds two B.A. degrees – one in English from Vanderbilt University in 1994 and another in Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 1995 – and received his J.D. from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 1999. He then spent a year clerking for Georgia Superior Court Judge C. Michael Roach before taking a job with an Atlanta firm that did primarily insurance-defense work, concentrating his practice there on cases involving products liability, nursing-home defense, and construction, as well as mass-tort litigation.

Jeremy Dantin was recently named to the inaugural class of the Stanford E. Lacy American Inn of Court.  The American Inns of Court is an association of lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals from all levels and backgrounds dedicated to professioand excellence.  The Stanford E. Lacy American Inn of Court is the only Workers’ Compensation Inn of Court in South Carolina and one of just nine nationwide.
Jeremy joins the Inn as a Master of the Bench.  Masters of the Bench are generally appellate and trial judges and experienced trial and appellate attorneys of demonstrated superior character, ability, and litigating competence.  Masters have at least 15 or more years of legal experience.

He and his wife, Suzanne, both grew up in the Spartanburg area and wanted to move home to raise their kids. In 2002, he returned to South Carolina and began working with a prestigious Greenville-based defense firm, before coming to work here in 2005.

From the beginning, Jeremy’s expertise as an insurance-defense lawyer proved beneficial in crossing over to represent plaintiffs. “Having a background as a law clerk and defense attorney is really useful in trying to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of any given set of facts,” he says. “I believe assessing a case from both perspectives is crucial to success.”

While his appellate work has provided him with several personal highlights, Jeremy maintains there is no bigger thrill than helping a deserving client. “There is something profoundly satisfying about standing with a person who truly needs your help and delivering results in their time of need. There are lawyers that can go through their entire careers and never know that satisfaction, and we at this firm are blessed to be in a position to really make a difference.”

Outside of work, Jeremy loves sports – especially football, baseball, and basketball.  Jeremy and Suzanne have four children and he is a devoted fan of their sports activities (and other interests) most of all.  Additionally, Jeremy loves to hunt and fish, which he tries to do as often as he can. He and his wife are active members of their church, and enjoy spending as much time as possible with their family and friends.

I am very competitive, and my team and I are highly motivated to do the best possible job we can for every single one of our clients.
Our firm has talented, experienced attorneys who have a tremendous depth of knowledge. This gives us the ability to provide the best possible representation for our clients over a broad range of legal matters. Because we are backed by great resources here at KD Trial Lawyers, I have the ability to take a case from its infancy all the way through the appellate process if necessary. This allows me to focus my attention on working harder and smarter on my clients’ behalf to maximize their outcome.
Being in the courtroom making an argument is what I enjoy the most, but I also really enjoy the process of working as a team to get the job done for our clients.
